What to Bring

Packing List

Please keep your clothing and personal items to a minimum.

Pack for 7 days only

  • Identification  
    • Photo ID
    • Medical or Insurance Card
    • Health Card
    • Passport ( for international clients only)

    Personal Hygiene Kit

    • Soap (unopened)
    • Shampoo (unopened)
    • Toothbrush/Toothpaste (unopened)
    • Hair brush
    • blow dryer/electric hair clippers
    • nail clippers
    • Q-tips
    • Deodorant ( stick)
    • Shaving Gear
    • Body Wash




    at least 2 Bath Towels and one face cloth Shaving Gear

    • running shoes, gym attire and gym bag ( DON’T FORGET)
    • several pairs of swim style shorts suitable for sauna ( minimum 2 or 3 pairs)
    • shoes for sauna (flip flops or slip on sandals)– leather/cloth is not recommended
    • slippers or shoes for residence as shoes must be worn at all times
    • Weather appropriate clothing, coats, jackets, boots, footwear
    • Casual wear-track pants and tee shirts
    • Personal Journal
    • Personal water bottle – metal or plastic ONLY

  • Own pillow and/or blankets for personal comfort (all beds have pillows, sheets and blankets however for hygiene the pillows have a plastic cover)

Items that are not permitted AND will be returned home:

  • Clothing that has insignia of any drugs, alcohol, negative sayings, etc will be confiscated at Intake by Turning Point Staff
  • Mouthwash or Aftershave containing alcohol
  • Videos and DVD that have profanity, drug or alcohol use or sexual content will be confiscated at Intake by Turning Point Staff
  • Any material that is offensive to others or has negative content. ( ie: pornographic material, offensive joke books etc)
  • No Video Games (x-box, game-boy, or any other system)
  • Cell Phones, Pagers
  • Lap tops
  • Personal DVD players,
  • E-Readers
  • MP3 or IPODS that have internet capability –if not sure, don’t bring
  • No open Products or baked goods
  • Dangerous Sharp Tools
  • Automobiles
  • Pets
  • No junk food, soda pop, energy drinks, protein powders



All medication must be brand new prescription that is blister packed by pharmacist. Any medication that is not sealed will be returned to sponsor and new prescription will have to be filled prior to admittance into The Habitude™ Addiction Program. To avoid delay and additional cost, please ensure new script is ordered and filled prior to coming to Turning Point and is sufficient amount for duration of program which is either 21, 28, 45, 60 or 90 days.

If a new prescription has been requested by the clients doctors, please have the doctor fax the request to Rexall Pharmacy on 700 Queenston Rd– Fax: 905-296-5475 c/ Turning Point

In the event, a prescription is necessary during the client’s treatment in The Habitude™ Addiction Program, a health card and drug benefit card must be kept on file during intake.

Due to the nature of our program it is necessary for Turning Point to assess all Medications prior to acceptance.

The following pharmaceuticals are not permitted :

  • Oxycocet
  • Dilaudid
  • Percodan
  • Tylenol with Codeine
  • Demerol
  • Oxycontin


  • Amytal
  • Nembutal
  • Seconal


  • Diazepam (Valium)
  • Temazapam
  • Clonazapam
  • Flurazepam
  • Lorazopam
  • Quazepam
  • Alprazolam
  • Triazolam
  • Estazolam
  • Chlordiazepoxide


Anything containing alcohol

  • Medications containing codeine/DM/ephedrine/pseudoephedrine
  • Gravol
  • Nasal Sprays
  • Anti-Psychotic Medications
  • Methadone
  • Over the counter medications
  • Homeopathic remedies

Any other medications not listed are subject to the approval of Turning Point.

Any items brought in that may not be conducive to a healthy recovery, will be confiscated by staff. Depending on the nature of these items, they may be returned to clients upon discharge.
